Differences

Some sensibilities  are attracted by the contemplation and celebration of the world’s beauty, others by the darkness within us.

There are other sensibilities that point to the singularity of what is seen, attending to details of things and the insignificance of them.

The various sensibilities reveal poetry that exists in the world and affirm, through them, the dignity of being in life, here and now.

The artworks from Elisa Wuo, Michaela Afonso Ferreira, Roberta Bottcher and Vera Souto are very unique, with distinct poetic pacts.

When seen in the same exhibition,  a cross-readings of their work will unravel the subtlety of their souls.

Elisa leads us through the expressiveness of the pictorial matter, to the poetic event that the graphics, stains, erasures, inscriptions (writings?) interpret in this scenery we call painting.

Michaela pursues the dreamlike qualities of the images, with characters wandering in the spaces created by the splashes of color.

Roberta draws and fragments the images of what is seen to build another reality, a space filled with associations of memories.

Vera makes images that focus on the expressive power of graphics, brushstrokes, with   intense contrasts to create a state of suspension in the viewer. Images that intrigue and surprise.
